I love hearing how my couples met. The stories range from casual encounters to it must have been fate to we beat all the odds to be together. But I have to say that Beverly and Nelson’s story of how they met is one of my all time favorites. The two Southern California natives were vacationing separately across the ocean in Hong Kong when they met one winter day. There were instant sparks, they both found out they lived in So Cal and the two found themselves spending New Years Eve together not three days after they’d met randomly in Hong Kong.
The story goes, from Nelson’s side, that Beverly got a little tipsy on New Years Eve and kept telling him all night long that she needed to tell him something. But that something never passed her lips, just the part about her having to tell him something. HE swears that she ended up telling him that night that he was the one. Yes, three days after meeting him. From her side of the story, she doesn’t remember telling him repeatedly that she had to tell him something, that she doesn’t think she’d had ever said he was the one three days after meeting him, and swears she wasn’t even that tipsy that night. He’s totally making it up.
Either way, it’s a great story and I can already picture Nelson telling their future kids the story of how their Mom told him he was the one just three days after they’d met. In another country. On New Years Eve. I love their story. I love them. I love the two of them together.
