Part two of our film shoot involves the beautiful Natalie and Rob. I can’t even begin to express how much I love these images and how much fun I had shooting film with my friends. The entire shoot took place at the gorgeous Condor’s Nest Ranch in Pala, Ca. The shoot was styled by Rzepka and Eyre who did a fabulous job with all the looks for all our models. There were more models that I didn’t get to shoot, but I love the fact that we all came away with such diverse images from the day. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone else’s work too.
When the rain poured down we ran inside this barn and found an office inside that boasted white brick walls and this window. It was perfection!
I love horses. I love their velvety noses, their long lashes, the way they blow air out their nose and how the gallop and trot. There’s something that’s innately romantic about horses. It’s part fairytale and fantasy, part serenity, and part strength.
The sneaky fellow on the right was the culprit who tried to eat Rob’s shirt. Feisty little guy.
Aren’t the colors just so gorgeous?
This trailer made for some fun shots.
Natalie is stunning, full of grace, and definitely knows how to work it for the camera. I loved shooting her and I think it shows.
Rob has these amazing blue eyes framed by the longest golden lashes I have ever seen. He smiles easily and jokes naturally, totally fun to be around.
A couple people have asked me recently if I post process my film images. It never even occurred to me to even try since everything came out beautifully straight out of camera. I love the way Richard Photo Lab processes my film, but I decided to try some black and white conversions since I have yet to try shooting black and white film. I like the feel of this, but I think color will always be what draws me in.
These images are a bit soft, but I still love the feeling they evoke.
We headed indoors when the rain became too heavy to shoot in and shot some portraits inside the ranch.
A big huge thank you go out to these wonderful and amazingly talented people!
Alice Hu for being the master mind behind this amazing shoot.
Lisa and Bob who own The Condor’s Nest Ranch in Pala, Ca. I only met Bob that day, but you won’t find a warmer, more funny guy than him! I loved hearing all his stories. And trust me, he has some good ones! And the venue is incredible.
