For Easter we packed picnic lunches and headed over to Irvine Regional Park with some friends for the afternoon. We lunched on the grass, chased toddlers, rode a train, stuffed blueberries into our mouths, gathered plastic technicolor eggs filled with candy, and rode ponies. All in all it was an awesome day.
It still amazes me that my baby girl is now a walking, some what independent minded little toddler. When did this happen?
Here’s Ellie and her friend Trystan. You may recognize him as the flying baby.
And the Dark Knight himself. I love how Dylan showed up with Asher in his arms, took one look at Ellie and Trystan, and said, “I didn’t know we were supposed to dress Asher up. He’s wearing a batman hoodie. Sorry Buddy, Daddy didn’t know!”
This is a sweet image. Never mind the fact that Trystan is trying to get Ellie to eat grass. Don’t do it, Ellie!
I’d never seen Ellie try to climb a fence before so I let her do as she pleased to see if she’d actually get up or not.
And she did it! The image on the right, the one with her pudgy knee just kills me.
Ellie’s first Easter Egg hunt! She picked up all three eggs by herself and placed them in her basket. There would have been a fourth one, but some older girl snatched it up even though Ellie and I were standing right over it and Ellie was about to pick it up. The kid’s Mom was even like, “Good job, baby!” Ohhhhhkaaay.
These two were pretty much over it when we plopped them down for a photo op.
Then we took the kiddies on their very first pony ride!
Go Ellie! Thanks Dylan for leading (or I guess I should say holding back?) that pony for me so I could take some pictures.
