Welcome to my Blog!

I'm a simple person who loves photographing people and spending time with my husband and two little girls, Ellie (4) and Emmeline (1). My girls are my world and every day I wonder how I became so blessed to be their Mama.

When I'm not behind the camera I love to knit and sew cute things for my girls and bake cookies. My husband likes to say I'm a granny at heart, but I like to say I'm a woman of many talents. ;)

I also enjoy snowboarding, traveling and immersing myself in books. One day I will conquer Cornice and get down without snowplowing my way. I dream of traveling to Greece, Italy and Paris one day, but I have yet to convince the husband that traveling abroad with two little ones would be aweome. I'd also love to go camping and show my girls the joys of a perfectly toasted marshmallow and walking barefoot through an icy cold creek bed. And although I said it would never happen, I now read most of my books on my iPhone or iPad instead of a book. Have kids and you'll soon realize the gift of a built in light and always having your book with you.

I'm based in Orange County, California and ocassionally travel for shoots.

I’m in Love : Film

I just received another two rolls from Richard Photo Lab today and I am completely smitten. Now tell me this isn’t the most gorgeous color you’ve ever seen! Ok, I may be a little biased since I’m a bit partial to my baby girl, but still! These quick portraits that I took of her just make me swoon. I was so smitten that after receiving these photos, I went out and bought myself 100 more rolls of Fuji400H film to shoot. In the next few weeks I hope to start experimenting with black and white film as well. I’ve gotten some recommendations from friends and can’t wait to try them all out.

I adore this photo so much! Ellie’s back lit fly away hair, the bright pink flower mid drop, the gorgeous greens, that creamy skin tone and those bare little feet just kill me!

This is right before she tried to eat that yellow flower. By the look on her face it didn’t taste as yummy as it looked. Silly girl.

That not so tasty flower got thrown to the way side after the taste test.  Anyone else completely enamored by chubby baby feet? I could munch on her toes all day long.

And one of my other favorites from the session. I just can’t get over the creamy vibrant colors! And I should also mention that we had some really amazing light at that time. When I see the light is nice and soft outside sometimes I’ll grab Ellie and run out onto the lawn to snap some pictures. Both of us barefoot. It’s kind of fun.

Ellie and Daddy walking to the park. It’s a bit out of focus, but I love it regardless. See how they’re walking in step with each other? How cute is that? I think at the time this was taken I was still testing out the auto focus on the Contax. I’ve since switched to learning to manual focus as I find it easier to use in terms of speed and accuracy.

One of those rare Ellie and me photos. It’s rare that I’m ever on the other side of the lens, but I’m determined to take more photos with Ellie and not just of her.

In theory this looked more fun than it was. I blame being stuck in the tire hole and having a husband who thought it would be fun to swing us in crazy circles.

These next two are underexposed, but I still like them enough to post. Ellie giving Bunnie a kiss. It doesn’t get much sweeter than that.

Her pigtails kill me. They stick out and are usually always crooked, but are always always adorable. This was taken at the BMW motorcycle shop while Jeff test rode a bike.

All images are basically straight out of camera except for my watermark or removal of dust on the scans.
