It’s always so exciting for me to walk into the hotel room where my brides are getting ready. I love seeing the details that makes each of my brides feel the most beautiful. Is it a simple gown, or one made of European lace? Something light as air or perhaps a formal ballgown with a cathedral length train. Amazing intricate detailing or maybe just a few well placed box pleats? Will she have heels in a bold shade? Or traditional white satin. Perhaps she may wear a pair of pastel pink ballet flats. It’s always a surprise, and a fun one for me.
Jully look so stunning in her simple, yet intricately draped and oh so romantic Vera Wang gown. She chose bold, sparkly pieces for her jewelry and shoes as well as a long veil for some drama. We started off at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills for the getting ready pictures. What I love most about Jully and Drew is that they do things that are right for them. The two of them spent the morning together all hanging out, relaxing and getting ready together. There was still the big reveal since Drew had yet to see Jully’s dress, but I love that they spent the entirety of their big day together.
I loved the giant oversize canary yellow gems that Jully accessorized herself with.
Jully and I had a few phone conversations prior to her wedding day and in one of those conversations she mentioned her very simple Vera Wang dress. Well, I know my Vera Wang and even it’s its simplicity, there’s always some wow factor to her dresses and Jully’s dress definitely did not disappoint. Understated simple shape, but with amazing lines, draping, details and mix of fabrics. Love!
Jully and Drew opted for shades of vibrant reds and pinks to compliment their day.
I loved the mix of traditional roses with exotic orchids mixed into her bouquet. Add some sparkle and you’ve got yourself a stand out bouquet. And how absolutely darling is the little suspender shorts and bow tie for the ring bearer? I melt every time I look at it.
It doesn’t get much better than chubby ankles and baby feet.
Adorable! He was such a good little guy!
I feel like I’ve become a pro boutonniere pinner on-er. And I’m a bit particular about placement on the lapel as well. If it’s too high, too low, crooked, or if pins are showing, I will stop whatever I am doing to get that bout on right. Jen took this picture of me pinning Drew’s boutonniere on. Always insert pins through the back so they don’t show and always use two to anchor the flower in place so that it doesn’t go askew later on.
How cute is this photo of Drew straightening his Father’s bow tie? I love!
It was such a gorgeous day out, not too hot, not too cold and with just a hint of a breeze rustling through the treetops.
Jully looked amazing on her wedding day! And just a funny story…. after I took this shot of Jully by the window, her makeup artist asked to see the picture to make sure he liked her lip color. I had to apologize and tell him that I was shooting film, but I don’t think he heard me because he asked again saying, pretty please. I showed him the back of my Contax (no LCD!) and explained I was shooting film. But Jully looked perfect and all you see is her radiance.
Drew looked quite handsome as well. I really adore the image on the right. Something to do with that hint of a smile and the bone structure of his jaw and cheekbone that looks so classic to me.
Men doting on babies is kind of hot, wouldn’t you say? I miss that stage of baby where they look like they have rubber bands wrapped around their wrists.
The proud Father of the Groom. Doesn’t he look so great?
I love how sweet these two are together. Their faces light up at each other.
Now doesn’t Drew look so gosh darn happy? That right there is a man in love.
Adorable little flower girls.
Apparently, it was Neil Diamond’s birthday that day. A plane flew overhead and wrote “Happy Birthday Neil Diamond” in the sky. I hope he saw it.
Jully and Drew kept their day simple and opted not to have designated bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, they were surrounded by family and friends all day long and their closest friends and siblings toasted them at the reception.
Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills. Lush florals in shades of red, lots of candle light, twinkling strands of crystal and hints of gold made for quite a romantic evening.
This waiter on the left is probably the best wait staff I (as a vendor) have ever experienced. Not only did he attend to the guests, but made sure to check up on me and my two other photographers to make sure we kept hydrated and brought us hot bread to tide us over when our entrees ran a bit late. Seriously, we all wanted to give him a big hug at the end of the night for being so gracious to us. Thank you!
I love all the twinkle lights and the chandeliers hanging over their courtyard. It’s absolutely magical!
The reception was so lush and romantic. I heard guests ooh and ahhing all night long.
