I met Jenny and Andy about 6-7 years ago on a snowboarding trip to Mammoth. It had been a while since I’d been snowboarding and I was really excited to hit the mountain the next morning with a bunch of old and new friends. It wasn’t until the next morning that I found out that none of the other girls were going to be boarding that day and that the guys I did know on the trip were new to the sport planning on staying on the green runs. Rather than miss out on a day of fun, I decided to hit the slopes with the group of guys I didn’t know.
Anyways, long story short, these guys were all really experienced boarders and I often found myself alone, struggling to keep up. There was always this one guy who made sure to wait for me. I didn’t even know his name, but I remembered to keep an eye out for his red jacket so I knew which trails to take. It wasn’t something I asked him to do, but I was really grateful to him that day. This guy that I didn’t know was basically sacrificing his day of riding with his buddies to make sure I was ok. This speaks volumes about the kind of man Andy is.
And then there’s Jenny. My sweet Jenny who is the most positive, thoughtful and giving person you will ever meet. EVER. She has a way of turning trials into blessings, of putting a smile on people’s faces, and always paying it forward when it comes to brightening someone’s day. She’s a woman of many interests and talents, but will humbly downplay all that just to talk about all the things you’re good at. These two make such an amazing couple and their children Evan and Joy are truly blessed to have them as their parents.
Thank you guys for having me photograph your family this year! It means so much to me to have friends like you in my life!
