The moment I stepped into Susan’s hotel room at The Langham Hotel she got all excited and told me that I would love her shoes which in turn got me all excited! You know how it is with girls and their shoes. But the truth is, I loved everything about their wedding. From her shoes and details, to the gorgeous venue, the hilarious moments with Jay and the groomsmen, their mothers looking so beautiful in their hanboks, and the touching moments at their reception. All in all it was an amazing day and I feel so lucky to have been able to capture it all.
Esther of My Bride Story and her team did an incredible job putting together the big day. And I of course have to thank my good friends Jeret Slack and Jen Lauren Grant for shooting and assisting me at this wedding. It’s so fun working with them and they’re both so amazingly talented!
I love sparkles and shoes. Susan’s split shank micro pavé halo engagement ring is to die for. Add to that a fabulous pair of Stuart Weitzmans’s and you have one happy photographer!
I love the look of anticipation on Susan’s face as her Mother and bridesmaid help her into her gorgeous dress.
The guys’ casual getting ready pictures are such a stark difference to what the girls have to go through. I’m loving the classic black and whites of the guys drinking and toasting Jay in such a masculine looking bar.
Hotness. Thanks Jeret for capturing the guys!
Love the shot that Jen got of all the shoes lined up on the right.
The classic cinderella shot. Susan carries such a natural grace about her that she just naturally looks this beautiful. Nothing was posed. I just captured this as it happened. And I’m not sure if you all know, but putting on stilettos while wearing a big heavy dress is no easy feat.
Probably one of my favorite putting on the shoes shot ever. It’s just so feminine and perfect! Susan makes such a stunning bride!
Susan and Jay opted for a first look which took place on this grand balcony.
I love the soft golden light that we get in the halls of the Langham Hotel. It’s just plain gorgeous.
We made our way into the garden area and did some portraits.
I really love this one that Jeret got! When I first saw it load, I thought it was an accidental frame until I saw Susan and Jay’s little faces in the corner. Awesome!
I found some gorgeous soft light and made use of the cool shade where things started to heat up a bit.
Aren’t these just so romantic? I love them all!
The ceremony took place on the sweeping grand lawn of the hotel. It was a gorgeous day and everything looked perfect.
Susan’s Mom looked stunning in her hanbok.
I love how peaceful Jay looks as he watches his bride walk up the aisle towards him.
Jen got these next two gorgeous shots of the cocktail hour in the central courtyard of the hotel. Doesn’t it look so serene?
The ballroom was a sight to behold. It literally took my breath away when I first entered. And then we were all like kids in a candy shop shooting the beautiful details of Susan and Jay’s reception.
When Susan told me about her shoes, she also told me that I would love her cake. I didn’t quite know what she meant until I saw it though. My first thought was, “Are there shoes on the cake?” Ha, me and my one track mind. But I did indeed love her cake. Simple, yet sparkly and feminine.
Congratulations, you two! May your lives together be filled with many laughs, lots of hugs, and a life time of adventure!
